Sunset rockrose

Cistus x pulverulentus ‘Sunset’

Description

Sunset rockrose is low spreading to mounding shrub, 18-24 in. tall and ranging 3-5 ft. across. Colorful flowers are deep rose-magenta with yellow centers cover the plant in spring. Foliage is comprised of pale green leaves that are covered with many small hairs and heavily textured.

This rockrose cultivar is a popular choice for use as a ground cover on banks and in mixed understory plantings within traditional Mediterranean and southwestern garden plantings.
