Description

Talk about sweet fragrance! This early spring evergreen vine celebrates the end of winter with a burst of tiny white flowers that exude a deeply sweet fragrance throughout any garden. Two weeks of flowering is the perfect amount of time for Pink jasmine to make a lasting impression for most people.

This dense growing evergreen to semi-deciduous vine grows twining branches up to 20 ft. long. Deep green leaves grow 7 in. long and are divided into 5-7 leaflets that grow 2-3 in. long. Colorful rose colored flower buds open into highly fragrant pure white flowers in mid winter through late spring.

This robust and colorful vine is native to western and southwestern parts of China. It grows all across the Inland Empire where it tolerates temperatures to 10°F and does best in loamy soils with regular water. This is one of the most fragrant flowering plants for commercial and residential landscapes.

Water Needs

The Pink jasmine vine grows best without moisture stress. Regular irrigation is recommended throughout the year. The chart shown below provides a baseline guide to the monthly irrigation schedule and volume of supplemental water needed to maintain healthy growth throughout the average year. The high and low range of moisture indicates it can grow with varying amounts of water; higher amounts of water will result in stronger springtime flowering performance and better summer foliage character.
