The Majestic Beauty Indian hawthorn is a large evergreen shrub to small tree with a vigorous growth rate and robust foliage and flower character. Large leaves and grow grow 3-4 in. long, are leathery, deep green and have coarsely toothed margins. Large clusters of bright pink flowers cover the plant in early to mid-spring.

Majestic Beauty Indian hawthorn can be grown as a mounding shrub 8-10 ft. tall or as a patio and courtyard tree where it can eventually reach 12-18 ft. in height. It is highly adapted to Inland Empire gardens and grow well in sunny locations and with moderate amounts of water. It shows great adaptability to most soils and is a reliable and easy to maintain plant. Good staking is recommended for patio trees to keep the trunk upright and to hold up the canopy.

Water Needs

Whether grown as a tree or shrub, the Majestic Beauty Indian hawthorn grows well with normal winter rainfall and regular summer water. The chart below provides a baseline irrigation schedule for this species. It should be noted there are several winter months marked by an asterisk (*) when rains can provide sufficient moisture and irrigation is not needed. The high and low range of moisture indicates it can grow with varying amounts of water; higher amounts of water within this range will result in stronger springtime flowering performance and summer foliage character.
